When you first come to counselling, we will explore what is going on with you and why you are looking for help at this particular time.
We will spend a few sessions coming to understand your life history, relevant events and experiences. As we continue, we will talk about issues as they arise and identify your desired changes.
We will normally meet once a week in my office. The number of sessions will depend on the issues you bring and the depth of the problem.
Pace of counselling
When you come to counselling, we will set the pace of the work together.
However it is important to keep up a momentum so you know that you are making progress, but not so much that you feel hurried or lost.
Counselling supports you through the different stages of recognising and resolving problems, all the while bearing in mind the importance of maintaining a manageable, yet functional pace.
